Retina was a small photographic club I ran at AJ+C. One of the projects from the club was to photograph a ‘flower’. After shooting some freesias and an orchid, I came across a water lily that was starting to open. I’ve always been interested in trying to capture the progress of time in still images, through sequencing or timelapse. As the water lily slowly bloomed it became the perfect subject for the project.
